Washer Repair

It's hard to go about your everyday life if you have dirty clothes. Your washer is a fine tuned machine that ensures all dust, dirt, and debris be removed from pretty much any article of clothing you put in it. If there were any issue with it there could be some pretty significant problems. Whether it be your clothes aren't spinning out as quick and efficent as they should or water is ending up in places you'd rather it not be, there's a lot of possible issues to be had. Most people can't go too long with dirty, musty clothes, and you won't have to if you call Cunnigham Appliances. Quick Fixes

If you need something done quick and don't have time to get repair for your washing machine theres a few quick options to get you back up and running. Be mindful of course that while anyone can "fix" a washer, professionals have a lot of experience with machines, if at any moment you feel like you're doing something you're not confident in stop and get a washing machine repairman asap.

Check Washer Level

If you find your unit bouncing around far to much to get it to wring out much of anything then you could quickly check to see if the machine is level. Most modern washers have adustable feet that you can rotate to either push the unit up or down. If you find you can push on the washer and it easily rocks back and fourth, or you easily notice it leaning towards one side then adjust the feet accordingly. Of course you could have further damage to your suspension rods/shock absorbers along side a few other parts. Water inlet/drainhose

Washers fill through both a hot and a cold valve internally. You will be able to see the two water lines on the rear of the unit that should be slightly tighter than hand tightness. If you think they're leaking or having issues you'll typically notice water lines on the underside of the lines or down the back of the unit. Alongside the water lines should be the external drain line. Depending on what cycle you have your washing machine on it will drain somewhere between 1-3 times a cycle. If you have any pinhole or the hose has simply come out of the line, that'll very easily cause drain leakage. If you've checked these but can't find anything be certain to get your washing maching repaired. If you're noticing water overflowing out of the drain on running you most likely have further plumbing issues in which case you should call your local plumber.

Washer smell/Cleaning

How cruel it is that the things that clean for us, themselves get dirty. Of course all of the dirt and debris you accumulate through the day has to go somewhere and sometimes that somewhere is in the machine itself. You'll especially notice if you're living out of town in somewhere like rural Monticello, or anywhere on the sangamon aquifer you'll notice a smell arising far more often. It's best to get clean your washer the best you can before the buildup gets to much for simple cleaning methods. We recommend you run an Affresh cleaning pod or use bens appliances cleaning detergent. Make sure to ensure the drain line is a few feet off the ground and that the drain filter is cleaned out. If you have a front load washer make sure the front lint filter is also clear. If you're unable to get rid of the smell you may need a new door gasket or further drum cleaning.
